Liberabici presenta la “Quattro Sassi”, pedalata cicloturistica in Valmarecchia
C’è un giorno in cui i ciclisti della Valmarecchia si ritrovano per pedalare insieme sulle nostre colline toccando alcuni antichi borghi tra i più suggestivi, ricchi di fascino e storia del nostro entroterra.
Il 25 giugno Liberabici ti aspetta alla terza edizione della “Quattro Sassi” !
Una festa del ciclismo per chi ama il nostro sport, il nostro territorio e vuole unirsi al gruppo per condividere emozioni in amicizia; una Libera escursione ciclistica, senza obblighi e vincoli, senza classifiche e punteggi; questa è la “Quattro Sassi” una libera giornata di ciclismo in linea con la filosofia dell’organizzatore, Liberabici.
Il percorso, con partenza ed arrivo a Villa Verucchio, nei sui 100 km. attraversa località di grande valore storico e culturale oltre che di interesse paesaggistico, il primo colle è rappresentato dal centro storico di Verucchio che si affronta subito dopo la partenza; a seguire ci attende la lunga ascesa che, dopo aver raggiunto San Leo e sfiorata l’ineguagliabile rocca, ci porterà verso l’abitato di Villagrande dove ci aspetta un momento di pausa con un piccolo ristoro. La ripida discesa verso Soanne ed il movimentato saliscendi per Scavolino ci condurrà al terso “sasso” il borgo di Pennabilli racchiuso dall’inconfondibile profilo dei monti Penna e Billi. Da Pennabilli si scende rapidamente verso Ponte Messa e la provinciale Marecchiese, giusto il tempo di prendere fiato in vista dell’ultima fatica di giornata, la salita verso il quarto “sasso” rappresentato da Petrella Guidi, l’incanto di un borgo mirabilmente recuperato, nel comune di Sant’Agata Feltria. L’ultima discesa ed il successivo trasferimento di 30 km. sulla provinciale saranno ordinaria amministrazione per far ritorno a Verucchio concludendo in scioltezza la “Quattro Sassi”.
L’escursione, di media lunghezza, presenta importanti tratti di salita e passaggi tecnicamente ipegnativi che la rendono molto apprezzata dai cicloturisti più allenati; il percorso si presta tuttavia a numerose varianti con “tagli” utili a ridimensionare l’impegno atletico, dopo ciascuno di quattro “sassi” è infatti possibile deviare verso la provinciale Marecchiese per raggiungere agevolmente la località successiva.

The day is finally coming when cyclists from the Valmarecchia valley gather to ride together through the hills, reaching some of the most beautiful hamlets in our countryside, full of charm and history.
Save the date: on June 25 Liberabici welcomes you to the third edition of “Quattro Sassi”!
“Quattro Sassi” is a festival for cycling enthusiasts and for those who love our countryside and want to meet up to share emotions in a spirit of friendship; a cycling excursion without obligations or restrictions, rankings or scores. “Quattro Sassi” is a free, great day of cycling in line with the philosophy of its promoter, Liberabici.
Its route, which starts and ends in Villa Verucchio, is 100 km long and passes through many localities of great historical, cultural and scenic interest. The first hill is the historic centre of Verucchio itself, right after the start; after that, a long climb awaits, a climb that reaches San Leo and its unrivalled citadel and then leads to the residential area of Villagrande. Here cyclists will have the chance to relax with a coffee break. After the steep slope to Soanne and the continuous ups and downs to Scavolino, we reach the third stage, the small town of Pennabilli, framed by the unmistakable outline of the Penna and Billi hills. From Pennabilli the route quickly descends towards Ponte Messa and the provincial road Marecchiese, where cyclists will have the time to catch their breath before the last challenge of the day, which is the climb to the fourth stage, Petrella Guidi, a wonderfully restored, charming hamlet in Sant’Agata Feltria. On the way back to Verucchio, the last descent and the following 30 km leg of the route on the provincial road will be a child’s play, a perfect ending to the “Quattro Sassi” race.
Our route, a medium-length itinerary with steep climbs and some challenging parts on a skill level, is perfect for well-trained touring cyclists; however, less trained cyclists can choose to take some “shortcuts”; after each one of the four stages, it is possible to deviate towards the provincial road Marecchiese, so as to easily reach the next location.
