“Quattro Sassi” Up Hill Cycling Challenge 2018 : a nice ride @InEmiliaRomagna scheduled on the next April
The day is finally coming! Some good cyclists from the Valmarecchia valley gather to ride together through our hills, reaching some of the most beautiful hamlets in our countryside, full of charm and history. On April 25th Liberabici welcomes you to the fourth edition of The“Quattro Sassi” Up Hill Cycling Challenge!
“Quattro Sassi” is a cycling festival for those who love our sport and our territory and for those who want to meet up to share emotions in a spirit of friendship; a cycling excursion without obligations or restrictions, rankings or scores. “Quattro Sassi” is a free, great day of cycling in line with the philosophy of its promoter, Liberabici.
The route, specifically conceived for our Friends that are guests of the Riviera, starts from Rimini and ends in Verucchio, stretching for 90 km plus 1860 meters up in our green hills and passing through several towns of great historical, cultural and scenic interest. The first undulating part will lead us for a short stretch to the old centre of Verucchio and then, after a flat stretch, continues to the second hill, the climb to the charming town of Pennabilli, framed by the unmistakable outline of the Penna and Billi hills. Here we will enjoy a well-deserved moment of rest before facing the descent that will lead our Cyclists Friends to the “big challenge”… the climb to the medieval hamlet of San Leo. The one-of-a-kind citadel of San Leo stands out for its magnificence and looks down on the slow pace of the fearless cyclists who face the climb on the most challenging side. Once reached the top, wonderful landscapes and stunning views will be the best prize for everyone, after flanking the injured side of a rock that has experienced a huge landslide a few years ago.
The long and fast descent will make us forget the strain just faced. After a short climb, we will easily reach the foot of the hill of Verucchio again, while foretasting the refreshment waiting for us; a moment of celebration, joy and community with several cycling enthusiasts, the perfect conclusion of a day that we hope will be special for all of You.

C’è un giorno in cui i ciclisti della Valmarecchia si ritrovano per pedalare insieme sulle nostre colline toccando alcuni antichi borghi tra i più suggestivi, ricchi di fascino e storia del nostro entroterra.
Il 25 aprile Liberabici la IV edizione della “Quattro Sassi” ! Una festa del ciclismo per chi ama il nostro sport, il nostro territorio e vuole condividere emozioni in amicizia; una Libera escursione ciclistica, senza obblighi e vincoli, senza classifiche e punteggi; questa è la “Quattro Sassi” una libera giornata di ciclismo in linea con la filosofia dell’organizzatore, Liberabici.
Il percorso, appositamente studiato per i cicloturisti romagnoli e i turisti della riviera, partirà da Rimini e si concluderà a Verucchio, 90 km e 1860 metri di dislivello immersi nel verde delle nostre colline, attraversando località di grande valore storico e culturale oltre che di grande interesse paesaggistico. Un primo tratto ondulato ci porterà ad un rapido passaggio nel centro storico di Verucchio per poi proiettarci verso il secondo colle, preceduto da un buon tratto pianeggiante, la salita al pittoresco paese di Pennabilli racchiuso dall’inconfondibile profilo dei monti Penna e Billi. Qui ci attende un meritato momento di riposo e di ristoro prima di affrontare la discesa che ci accompagnerà verso la “grande sfida” che attenderà i nostri Amici ciclisti …. la salita verso il borgo medievale di San Leo. Unica nel suo genere la rocca di San Leo si staglia maestosa e osserva dall’alto il lento incedere dei temerari che affrontano l’ascesa sul versante più impegnativo; paesaggi incantevoli e scenari mozzafiato saranno il miglior premio per tutti una volta raggiunta la sommità, dopo essere sfilati sul fianco ferito di una roccia che ha visto il distacco di una immensa frana pochi anni fa.
La lunga e veloce discesa farà subito dimenticare la fatica appena affrontata, facilmente saremo di nuovo ai piedi del colle di Verucchio che raggiungeremo dopo una breve salita già pregustando il ristoro che ci attende; un momento di festa, allegria e condivisione con tanti appassionati ciclisti, la miglior conclusione di una giornata che speriamo sarà speciale per tutti Voi.
